Super spa break

I used the spa here, which was bought for me as a present, and it was absolutely super. Nice sized pool plus all the regular features like sauna and jaccuzi, but I found it had an incredibly relaxed atmosphere, the staff were wonderful and just left you to do your own thing. Can thoroughly recommend thier full body massage ;)

The Golf Course

Stapleford Park is far more than a fabulous home for golf. The seductive blend of luxury and informality, in one of England's finest stately homes, provides a unique and relaxing ambience.

Of all the courses in the world, very few are free from intrusion, be it housing or a busy road. The course at Stapleford Park is a rare exception, being in the delightfully pure setting of a Capability Brown landscape, with ever changing views of Stapleford's stately home, its lakes and five hundred acre park. This is classic English countryside at its very best.

Design Philosophy

The course wraps around the heart of the parkland in two extended loops, never being more than two holes wide, making it unusually spacious and peaceful. This configuration is reminiscent of the great links courses, such as the Old Course at St Andrews, as it provides continuing variety in the direction of the holes, as well as producing a series of stunning views.

Woods, ponds and streams, all teeming with wildlife, feature on many holes, although the meandering River Eye perhaps adds greatest strategic interest to the golf, coming into play on four holes.

Enjoyment is the crucial factor and on every hole, all standards of player are given a fair crack of the whip, with approaches on which the ball can be run onto the green.

Particular care has been taken during the design of the course to ensure that this exceptional historic landscape remains pristine.

The distinctive Scottish-style revetted bunkers have been used to exert maximum influence on the play of the better golfer, who is tempted to flirt with them to gain the advantage of being in prime position for the next shot. Grassy humps and hollows have also been used to shape the holes because they are less intimidating for the higher handicapper and the scratch player knows all too well the hazard that such features present.

This quint essential English golfing experience will enthral golfers from all over the world.

It's the whole set up here that attracted me to Stapleford Park. I can't think of anywhere more relaxing to come, to get away from the pressures of everyday life on the tour - Justin Rose

I love to play Donald Steel's courses and believe Stapleford to be one of England's greatest Jewels Sam Torrance, Captain European Ryder Cup Team 2001/2

The Club House

Overlooking the 18th hole stands the stone built, thatched Golf Pavilion. The Pavilion was opened in the Autumn of 2000 by Justin Rose, one of England's highest World ranked Golfers.

The Pavilion, built in the style of the old cottages on the estate, houses the Michelin Guide listed Pavilion Restaurant, Members' Meeting Room, pro-shop and changing rooms overlooking the 18th hole.

The Pavilion Restaurant provides casual dining; everything from light snack through to a 3 course meal.

Golf here is more exclusive than Wentworth but more accessible than Loch Lomond, it will have a very relaxed ambience and players will be able to get onto the course - just turn up and play!

    Stunning

A stunning course, lovely surroundings, does get busy but without feeling it, superb condition. This course is a treat to play with nigh on perfect Tees and Greens. It is challenging but even on those "off" days it is such a pleasure to play that you ALMOST do not notice the additional shots racking up!!!

    Great Course

Great understated course almost in the middle of nowhere! Some pretty tough greens but in superb condition and lots of well placed rough (tough wispy stuff), oob and water. Kind of inland linksy but a treat to play. They accept 2 for 1s so great way to get the cost down when the course is less busy.

Possibly the best couorse in the Midlands

For me this is a nice treat. The Golf Course has improved considerably and matured well. So well that it recently hosted a European Senior Tour event. This must be the Midlands best course and what brilliant is that its never too crowded when I have played it, which admittedly is only a couple fo times as I am more used to a municipal.
