Very, very good indeed

Met friends for a birthday dinner on Thursday. Age range of our group was 5 - 65 and all were well catered for. Delicious food, but expect to wait 20 - 30 minutes while it is freshly cooked. Service excellent and the restuarant has recently been redecorated and rearranged . . much better. 10 out of 10.

    Last night, I had a meal at the Rutland Balti with a friend and the food was fantastic as was the service. Sometimes I forget about this little restaurant tucked away at the end of Mill Street, but it was well worth the visit. Note to self: Visit more often. 10/10.

    I enjoyed the food very much in Rutland Balit House. they had a really wide range f dishes to choose from. the service was next to excellent. Really good evening. The restaurant is really nicely decorated too.

    calm and relaxing

       

    This restaurant has the most fabulous calm relaxing atmosphere, the food is great and i love the service i truly feel welcome here. I recommend this place for a nice relaxing meal and best of all the prices are fantastic for what you receive.

    Great Food, But What a Wait!

       

    We eat here regularly and I love the food - IMHO best in Oakham, but sadly on more than one occasion, when eating in, we have had to wait a terribly long time. Take a away takes priority sadly. My advice is to go on a week night when they aren't so busy then use them for take-away on the weekend.

    This is a great indian, excellant food, friendly service and a free bottle of wine with larger orders. Total quality every time - we use them 2 or 3 times a month.

    Service with a Smile

       

    It was an odd choice of venue to for a 5 year old's birthday celebration, but that's what she wanted... In we trouped, unnanounced, 3 adults, 5 children (all under 10), on chilly Monday evening. First plus point, the restaurant opens at 5.30pm, great for those with an early bedtime.

    Staff were very attentive, coats taken, table allocated and drinks on order almost as soon as we walked in. The children chose from the main menu - mainly kormas, but one balti for a very brave 9 year old - and we all tucked in to the freshly prepared popadums. Mango chutney a definate new favourite condiment

    The food is cooked to order, so it didn't arrive with the swiftness of Macdonalds, but the kids loved it and cleaned their plates with gusto. They then completed the experience off with a refreshing mango kulfi. Happy tummies all round.

    I will say that we did have the restaurant to ourselves, so anything other than 100% attention would have been poor, but the staff were busy with takeaway orders throughout the night and still managed to look after us royally.

    We received the best service and great food. My daughter already has it pencilled in for next year, but hopefully we will find an excuse to go back a bit sooner than that.
