New ensemble rehearsing Monday evenings in Empingham and playing first gig in early summer. Anyone out there wanting to get out the brushes and sticks??

Many thanks! Also plenty of opportunities for playing other instruments - Flutes, clarinets, saxes, brass etc in Rutland Concert Band on a Tuesday evening and big band instruments and guitars etc in Uppingham Jazz & Soul band on a Wednesday evening. There's so much going on - and that's without looking at the classical music side . Any comments?

Hello! I will be moving to Oakham in the summer, after I graduate from a music degree. I am a jazz singer looking for opportunities to get involved with the music within Oakham, but as a new resident, I don't really know where to start! Is there any one I can contact in regards to this?? Katy.

The Uppingham Jazz & Soul Band plays on a Wednesday evening at UCC in Uppingham from about 7.15pm. Quite a few members live around Oakham so there are lifts if you would require. Look the band up on Facebook, there is even some recently recorded music on it.. You can email me on chartpubs@btinternmet.com if you would like more info.
