A-level students at Oakham School, Rutland are celebrating a 100 per cent pass rate with nearly a quarter of pupils achieving the highest grade of A*.

Headmaster Nigel Lashbrook said that they deserve praise for their hard work, "I am delighted that so many of this year's A-level students achieved such impressive A-level results. It is always nice to have a 100% pass rate and it is even more pleasing that virtually three quarters of all A-level entries attained a grade B or above."

These results follow on from some excellent IB results in July. Mr Lashbrook said "Two thirds of students achieved at least one A grade in today's results. In total 30 pupils – that is a fifth of the Oakham cohort – achieved straight A*/A grades. More than a third of students managed to achieve two A grades or better."
