Snow depth recorded at Wittering weather station at 9am this morning puts Rutland in 6th place in the Met Office snowfall league table, so it is it no wonder that Rutland's 16cm of snow has caused many of our schools to close.

Rutland recorded as the 6th heaviest snowfall in the UK at 16cm.
Rutland County Council is working hard to clear major roads to make conditions as safe as possible, but with temperatures predicted to fall to -4c tonight and as low as -11c on Wednesday night, there is a small risk of further snow flurries.
