Following on from record Oxbridge success earlier in the year, Uppingham School is celebrating another great set of A-level results.

40% of the Upper Sixth (72 out of 181) gained straight A*A grades (in 2010 the achievement was 37%).  Twelve pupils gained 3A*s or better and of those nine gained straight A*s.

In addition to a 100% pass rate, other key measures exceeded previous levels – 62.5% of all entries were A* or A, and 19.4% were A*.

Richard Harman, Headmaster, said, "I am delighted to see the results that have been achieved by this year's cohort of Uppinghamians.  It is a fitting tribute to the hard work of the pupils and staff alike that their efforts have paid off so successfully.

These results are even more remarkable when one considers that pupils at Uppingham also embrace the rich extra-curricular opportunities that are available to them.  The environment enables them to grow both academically and personally and they leave us equipped for the challenges ahead of them."
