Today is the day when Hambleton Bakery, based in Oakham and Cottesmore, Rutland will take on it's rivals by putting its stamp on a classic sausage roll on ITV's Britain's Best Bakery at 4.00pm.

The competition is designed to find the best independent bakeries in the UK and today Hambleton Bakery will be pitched against a mother and son from Stoke who stepped in when their local bake house faced closure and a couple who swapped the rat race for a Derbyshire village bakery.

Only one competitor will go through to the next round.

Does this mean their products will be even more expensive than it already is. Meaning in Rutland who live outside the Rutland wealth bubble will have to imagine what the products taste like?

Will someone please tell these people there are loadsa people living here that have to count their pennies and can't even afford to look in the shop window, or perhaps that is what they want, to only serve the likes of Stephen Fry who said, and I quote "Sainsburys!....keeps the scum out of Waitrose!"
